Hostmark Hospitality Group Hotels Shine in IHLA 2006 H–Games and Knowledge Games

Schaumburg, IL, April 11, 2006 – Hostmark Hospitality Group’s downtown Chicago hotels – the Holiday Inn Chicago Mart Plaza, Holiday Inn City Centre, and Amalfi Hotel Chicago – captured top prizes in hospitality games during the Illinois Hotel and Lodging Association Educational Foundation’s recent 4th Annual H-Games and 2nd Annual Knowledge Games held at the Merchandise Mart in Chicago.
The Holiday Inn Chicago Mart Plaza team won the championship in the 2006 Knowledge Games, took first place in the Sealy Bednastics competition and took second place in the H-Games. The Holiday Inn City Centre captured the much-prized Spirit Award, which recognizes the “Most Spirited Team” and is voted on by the other hotels participating in the games. The Holiday Inn City Centre also took first place in the Carson’s Bell Cart Wheelie competition and secured third place in the H-Games. The Amalfi Hotel Chicago seized second place in the Sealy Bednastics competition.

Formerly known as the Hotel Olympics, the 2006 H-Games comprised 27 teams representing 38 hotels competing for prizes such as premium bed sets, high-filtration vacuums, deluxe luggage sets, and gift certificates for local restaurants and entertainment. For the first time, both the H-Games and Knowledge Games events were held together in their new location at the Merchandise Mart. Emery Moorehead, former Chicago Bear, pumped up the crowd with his team spirit speech and gave play-by-play commentary on the action.
