Hostmark Promise Program Sponsors In Search of Genius

Schaumburg, IL, May 24, 2011 – At the initial launch of Promise, a new program created to contribute to community and environmental sustainability, Hostmark Hospitality Group rewarded young Chicago students for their successful engagement in science by providing healthy lunches at the 2011 In Search of Genius Elementary Science Competition.
Hostmark, along with its four Chicago-area hotels (Amalfi Hotel Chicago, Holiday Inn Chicago Mart Plaza, Wyndham Blake Chicago, Best Western at O’Hare), highly-acclaimed Latin restaurant Carnivale and Beyond Events Catering, provided the lunches for the 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students and their parents during the competitive and fun year-end event of their science-focused program run by In Search of Genius. The In Search of Genius Foundation's annual inter-school competition brought together 600 children from 30 of the Chicago area's most underserved neighborhood schools for an exciting day of interactive team science challenges.

In the after-school program, In Search of Genius aims to excite elementary students from disadvantaged Chicago Public Schools about science by using an innovative curriculum that emphasizes fun, along with providing college-aged educational mentors.
